I am Samuel Larcher (LaSa) - an independent songwriter from Australia. I don’t perform. I don’t sing. Neither do I play any instruments.

I write songs.

Because I am not bound to a specific style or identity like performing artists or bands, my tracks feature various genres which include:

alternative rock, grunge, dream pop, indie rock, indie pop, alternative electronic, indie electronic, neo soul, etc

I also touch on an array of themes which include:

love, obsession, anxiety, mortality, loss, social behaviour and even AI - just to mention a few.

I fit the genre around the lyrics and the theme not vice-versa.

I write because a song can hold two truths at once — grief and gratitude, doubt and hope — and somehow make them singable. Every song in this journal began the same way: original lyrics and a musical idea, written by hand, long before any recording existed.

I'm a songwriter first, not a producer with a studio. AI-assisted production helps me to create, test and trial my ideas, share with peers and gain feedback. This usually happens at a demo stage.

I would love for any of my songs to be performed, by you maybe, getting out there in the broader public.

I would love to collaborate with artists, performers, bands - to make any of them yours and carry those words to your audience. That would make me most happy out of anything - those words performed by real people to real people.

What this is not about - money, self-glory.
