Story behind the song

Doom Scrolling is a darkly humorous take on our addiction to endless social media feeds, where wars, disasters, clickbait and advertising compete relentlessly for our attention. Despite recognising the absurdity of it all, we keep scrolling, trapped in a cycle that slowly erodes our ability to think, understand and disconnect.

Lyrics

You move your thumb without a rest, To scroll the feed, To scroll with speed. To shut the phone Would be the best, But you keep scrolling, Like the rest. To scroll the bullshit screaming loud, It calls your brain for full attention, Another click, another war, Another loss of full retention. You scroll up and you scroll down, You move in but don't come back, You know no end is coming soon, Another scroll towards your doom. You know no end is coming soon, Keep on scrolling towards your Doom! Keep on scrolling towards your Doom! You shut your phone? But you are back, To keep on scrolling, What the heck? To scroll the bullshit on the bus, It whacks your head for full attention, Another ad, another ad, Annihilating comprehension. You scroll up and you scroll down, You move in but don't come back, You know no end is coming soon, Another scroll towards your doom. You know no end is coming soon, Keep on scrolling towards your Doom! Keep on scrolling towards your Doom!
